Use Google Docs as a Desktop application. The main feature for this proof-of-concept is the ability to drag Word and Excel files into Google-Docs, and they are immediately imported and you can start working on them.

    we would love to, but Google Docs doesn’t seem to fully support importing of PDF documents yet.
